Food Safety & Product Quality Training

22 store managers across Southeast Asia participated in our monthly food safety and product quality training, where we shared best practices, reinforced accuracy checks for our equipment and tools, and engaged in an open discussion on the challenges faced by our stores. At CHAGEE, we actively listen to our partners and collaborate to uphold the highest standards of safety and quality in our products.

Audit Measures

In January 2025, our regional SWAT team of auditors conducted inspections across all 151 stores in Southeast Asia. We’re proud to share that 65% of our stores improved their food safety audit scores, while 75% saw improvements in product quality audit scores. We will continue to work closely with our store partners to enhance in-store practices to ensure the safety and quality of our products.

In-store Audit Findings

Improvements made in-stores following the audit:

Issue: There was a tea stain on the chiller's gasket.

Measures Taken: Gaskets are thoroughly cleaned. We mandate that storage equipment has to be clean, with no food residue or build-up, paying special attention to door seals and shelf brackets to ensure no mold, algae and grime build up.

Issue: The disinfectant concentration for some of our blue cloths was not within our specified range.

Measures Taken: Notice to store partners that the disinfectant concentration must be within the required range of 100ppm - 150ppm.

Food Safety & Product Quality Measures

Our thermometers are calibrated every morning to ensure precise temperature control during the brewing process. This ensures we extract the finest flavours from our premium tea leaves to craft exceptional beverages for our customers.

To avoid cross-contamination, we label our cloths with a timestamp and sanitise them every 2 hours.

Fun facts about Tea

Tea's Natural Shield

Did you know that tea leaves contain natural antioxidants that protect themselves from harmful bacteria and spoilage?

Tea plants protect themselves by naturally producing compounds called "polyphenols," which act as antioxidants, helping the plant fight off predators and environmental stressors; these same polyphenols are what provide many of the health benefits when we consume tea, as they neutralise harmful free radicals in the body.
